twinVCFilter is a versatile filter module itself. But there are times when you need some additional features like a notch-filter. In this case tVCF-Extension is your friend.

Individual Filter Outputs
tVCF-Extension has got individual outputs for each filter type of twinVCFilter’s filter-sections and even adds notch outputs. You can use all outputs at the same time.

Polarizers
As you might know, twinVCFilter already has two CV-inputs per filter section. We thought that might not be enough for complex patches, so tVCF-Extension has additional CV-inputs to modulate the cutoff-frequencies. Each with a dedicated polarizer for attenuating and inverting incoming voltages.
With these you will get new modulation possibilities like controlling both cutoff-frequencies at the same time in parallel or contrary.

There is almost no modular system without at least one filter-module. You can look at them as the stars within the giant eurorack-jungle. twinVCFilter is such a star as well. A dual filter module with flexible routing and excellent audio properties. It covers a huge range of different applications without the slightest effort.

Features and Routing
Each filter section of twinVCFilter works as low- or highpass-filter with a slope of 12 dB/octave or as bandpass-filter with 6 db/octave. Signals can be directed in three ways through the module:

serial: The incoming signal passes both filter sections in a row.
dual: The filter sections act completely separated of each other. As if they were two individual filter modules.
parallel: The incoming signal passes both filters at the same time.

With fourMulator we created a digital quad-LFO-module for the Eurorack-modular standard offering a lot more than typical cyclic modulations. Because of the individual modulators’ (LFOs) ability to sync to a common master clock, you are able to both create individual sound movements or complex and rhythmical modulation structures.

The modulators

Every LFO offers a choice of six wave forms: ascending or descending saw tooth, square, triangle, sine and a random curve (Sample & Hold). These oscillate in frequencies between 0.05Hz (20 seconds) and approximately 100Hz – fast enough for sonic alienation of oscillators, filters and VCAs. Each modulator offers individual wave-form- and trigger-outputs. The latter output a trigger impulse with every restart of the wave form. In addition, individual reset- and CV-inputs allow adding further manipulations from externally or within fourMulator.

Synchronization

The four modulator sections work independently generally, but may be synchronized to a clock-signal.
Two or more synchronized modulators oscillate at the same frequency, but not necessarily at identical phase. A synced modulator may be shifted by up to 180° – a half-cycle – to its neighbor. This way, you may easily create counter-rotating modulations. And by using the CV-inputs for phase modulation, even more complex structures become possible.
When being synchronized to a clock, the modulators oscillate with defined but adjustable clock divisions to the reference. Here too, being able to modulate the dividers by a control-voltage, highest-level versatility is guaranteed.
Both sync-modes can finally be combined. This way, you may synchronize one modulator to a reference clock, while it simultaneously serves as a master for its right neighbor.

CLOCK generator (CLK)

fourMulator has a clock-generator integrated. Its tempo can be set by using the TAP-button but also by using an external clock reference.

twinCussion is a dual channel drum-synthesizer module. Its components are explicitly designed to create percussive sounds while its flexible interconnections make it a must-have for rhythm based modular systems.

Special units A and B

twinCussion offers two sensibly structured sound engines, each consisting of an oscillator (complemented by a noise generator in engine 2), a voltage controlled amplifier and an envelope generator. Both sound engines can be used independently or being combined for more complex sounds. The internal structure can be edited and expanded at will, thanks to the multiple in- and outputs being available.

Versatile expert

twinCussion is a versatile sound chameleon. Although its sound engine is specialized in electronic drum sounds, it is not limited to specific instruments of this genre. This module generates pushing bass drums, prominent snares and chirping hi-hats with ease. And there is much more to twinCussion if using a little creative patching. Unleash numerous sounds like wooden clicks, metallic pings and a lot more.

Format conversion the flexible way

Our quad MIDI Interface picks up the flexible voice assignment of VERMONA’s PERfourMER MKII to provide a fourfold MIDI-to-CV/Gate converter for Eurorack-compatible modular systems. This way, you can play your modular synthesizer in different monophonic modes or even polyphonically using MIDI.

More than just pitch

Each of the four “output channels” offers a CV-output with 1V/octave-characteristic, a gate-output plus two additional control voltage outputs. These can be easily addressed by MIDI-controllers such as the modulation-wheel or pitch bender. The output channels can freely be combined or be used with independent MIDI-channels. Combined output channels can be used in unison, monophonically with rotating voice assignment or even to create polyphony.<br/> qMI 2 also offers four clock-divider-outputs. These convert incoming MIDI-clock signals into analogue gate-voltages. A reset-output allows sequencers with corresponding input to run in sync by MIDI-start/stop commands.<br/> A new feature of qMI 2 is the option to switch between both monophonic voice assignment modes using a gate signal.

Easy access to functionality

An important part of the modular concept is the easy access to every parameter, without using displays or complicated menu structures. qMI 2 will help you to integrate your modular-system into your MIDI-setup straight-forwardly!

Eurorack-outputs deluxe

This DI-box in a module offer two adjustable electronically balanced XLR-outputs. twinOut is designed for full stereophonic or dual mono use. To complete its functional range, a headphone output was added – being also suitable to transport line levels.

Like every VERMONA module, each twinOUT is hand-assembled in our electroacoustic manufactory in Germany. If you want to get the most of your modular synthesizer, you cannot pass by the twinOUT!

Our twinVCAmp was designed as a flexible and equally high grade dual VCA. Its luxurious outfit and though-out circuitry make it a valuable tool for every modular system – naturally with superior sonic quality.
Per VCA, the amplification ratio can be set to exactly 1:1 or 1:4. This way, weak input signals can be expediently boosted in level. At the same time, high level audio signals will be distorted and compacted in a harmonic and musical way.
The characteristics of both VCAs can individually be switched from linear to semi-logarithmic – a curve specifically designed for musical applications.

Team-player or lone fighter

Both VCAs can be used independently or in combination. Available are three possibilities:

  • VCA1 can serve as offset-generator for its twin brother.
  • Both VCAs can share a control voltage source.
  • The sum of both VCAs can be used from a separate output.

Each module is carefully assembled, checked and packed in our electroacoustic manufactory in Erlbach, Germany. VCDrive is a voltage controlled distortion module suited for all kind of signals within your modular system.

The large sonic spectrum of VCDrive ranges from slight fattening of audio signals to intense overdrive. At the same time, it will always preserve its elegant basic nature. This module is not a brutal destroyer, but rather an enormous muscle pack with a classy core.

The amount of distortion can be manually adjusted or being modulated by an external control voltage. In the simplest case, you use an envelope or LFO to do so. However, given a good portion of creativity, VCDrive will easily deliver more complex results and therefore can be so much more than just a “typical” distortion unit.

VCDrive is a premium sound shaping device that should not be missing in any modular system. It is an effective team player when it comes to create cutting bass-, lead- and drum-sounds. It is also of great help when designing weird effect-sounds.

The Vermona Dual Buffered Attenuator/Mixer is a dual attenuator and/or mixer as well as an inverter and a CV source

Each channel has an output and an inverted output that can be attenuated with the Level knob.
Additionally there is a mix of channel A and channel B at the output labeled “A+B” while “A-B” carries the mix of channel A and the inverted signal of channel B, which is nice for processing CVs as well as cancel out audio content to achieve different filter characteristics.

If nothing is patched in an input the module can generate +5V and -5V (With nothing patched in both inputs output A+B can carry up to 10V)

The Dual Buffered Multiple/Inverter is equipped with two active buffered multiples in 1U tile format.

Each section of this Tile has an input and three buffered outputs on top – a classic buffered multiple. On the bottom the inversion ofthe input is available, likewise three-fold, active and buffered which in contrast to an un-buffered multiple allows you to use this module also to distribute Key-CV to a few oscillators.

In the left section you’ll find an Offset input socket which allows you to mix an offset voltage with the input signal. With a constant CV source, e.g. from the Dual Attenuator/Mixer you can amplify the signal of this multiple section or attenuate it with negative voltage. With a LFO or Sequencer you can also modulate the amplitude of the inverted multple signal.
